Take your pick from the many bars around Cape Town. If you want to experience the nightlife of the black community in Cape Town, you should visit a shebeen in one of the townships. Its probably not a good idea to try and find one on your own, but you can take a special evening township tour (see section Sights).

All Bar None The place to be for the haves and the wanna-haves. Expensive drinks, snooty people, and a long waiting at the bar if youre not one of the Beautiful People. Ideal for a few drinks before clubbing. Address: 5 Bree Street
The Lounge Friendly, relaxed place. Youll come in for a few quick ones, and find yourself still there four hours later. Acid Jazz, Fusion, Drum n Bass, Trip-Hop and Funk. Address: Upper Long Street
The Magnet An intellectual coffee drinkers paradise. Open all the time till very late. Caters for an upmarket, albeit groovy crowd. This place seems to feed off an atmosphere created by old skool, retro flicks. Always is full on the weekend, due to the Funktion just around the corner. Perfect for post-clubbing chill-out sessions. Piano Lounge Smooth place, classic retro with velvet curtains and a grand piano. Theyve often got a dj spinning 70s stuff, filling up the dance floor. The upstairs lounge is ideal to relax and sip on a really fancy cocktail. Address: 100 Castle Street
